Hi gang,
Just wanted to reach out to let you know about our upcoming shows over the next two weeks.
Tomorrow, Sunday, August 21, we will be playing two shows in the Boston area and it looks like it will be a beautiful day to boot.
First up is a short set at the Boston Green Fest right in the heart of the city at City Hall Plaza. The fest is going on right now (as this email is being written) and runs through the weekend. We will be the final performance of the weekend and we are honored to be a part of it. The fest is a way for purveyors of eco-conscious goods and likeminded consumers to get together and exchange thoughts, ideas and enjoy some demonstrations, have some great food and listen to some music. We go on at 5:15 and play a short set (about 35 minutes) on the Metro Main Stage. __________________________________________________________________________ Then, after that (and maybe a cuppa chowdah or three) we’ll be heading on over to Aeronout Brewing Co in Somerville for two sets of free music starting at 8pm. We played Aeronaut a few months ago with our friends, Mercury On Mars and had a great time. We’re psyched they asked us back. And not only are we playing a full show there but the whole weekend is sort of an Olympic Village presentation. Inside the brewery they will be streaming the Olympics on giant screens and there is music all day starting at noon. Check out the details below (and/or join the Facebook Event Page here). ___________________________________________________________________________ Flash forward to the end of the month (not the end of August already!) and on Tuesday, Aug 30 Colorway will once again take part in the Transperformance. This year the theme is Labor Party! and the band we chose to represent a job/profession/what have you are the venerable Foo Fighters! Yes, those hard working fighters of Foo will be on our minds as we take the stage sometime that Tuesday. We can’t tell you which tunes we’re doing but we do promise it will be a hell of a show. Come on out early to catch all the fun. The whole shebang starts at 4pm and runs until 9:30pm (details below). ___________________________________________________________________________ Finally, kicking off September on Sat, 9/3 we are super-pumped to not only be playing one of the best new venues around for live music–The Root Cellar in Greenfield–but we get to play with an amazing band of brothers from Philly, Flux Capacitor. We go on around 9pm and play a full set. Then the “Jamtronica” begins at 10:30 and rages until 12:30am. Look out for some rock, jam, EDM, funk, fusion and mayhem as the band (who played Bonnaroo and The Peach Music Fest this year) take the stage at the Root Cellar. _______________________________________________________________________________ Well, that’s about it for now, gang. Plenty more shows coming up over the next couple of months but I don’t want to overload you with the details. You an always go to www.colorwaymusic.com and check it all out for your own bad selves.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and hope to see you at one of the shows.
Rock on,
~FAJ

About Flux Capacitor:
Emerging from the Pennsylvania music scene, from the outskirts of the City of Brotherly Love, is the phenom band known as Flux Capacitor. Their fiery, distinct sound has catapulted the group with lightning speed into the National Music Scene. This band of brothers consistently inspire and evoke a new and wildly addicting sound resonating with elements of rock, improvisation and electronica. They redefine musicality with positive prophetic vocals, complex guitar work, innovative keys/synths/bass stylings, with feverish syncopated drum rhythms. Flux Capacitor concerts are filled with improvisation, musical segues, spontaneous covers, and teases creating a unique, one of a kind experience at every performance. The essence of the brothers music is fueled by their dedicated practice of meditation and lucid dreaming which keeps them fueled by a higher power. Their electric vibe transcends the stage and extends into the crowd creating a magical musical ambience.
About The Root Cellar:
The Root Cellar is a brand new music venue and bar in Greenfield designed to bring the best of the Valley to our community, celebrating everything local: from musicians, artists, brewers, distillers, farmers and artists. We are creating an atmosphere that can provide a sweaty dance party one night, a mellow acoustic set another, and also be the place you stop in for a local brew or a herbal infused cocktail with friends. The Root Cellar is the brain child of a musician and a farmer and is fueled by a love of homemade, down-home fun – we are hoping to bring this positive spirit to Greenfield in an inexpensive, unpretentious way that makes everyone feel welcome. With plenty of space for you to dance, a top-of-the-line sound system, room on stage for bands to do their thing, and experienced sound professionals, The Root Cellar strives to be the Pioneer Valley venue where the quality of your music experience takes center stage.
